SHOWS

Next Stop- Doukissis Plakentias, Megaron Doukissis Plakentias Penteli, June 2009

Seven historical women share their stories. The Empress Theodora, the empress Theofano, Zoe Porphyrogenita,  Kleopa Malatesta, Anna Komnini and the Duchess of Plakentia return from the past, remember, confess, apologize, get angry and take us for a journey to the past with their personal stories and songs. The project was based on the monologues of Thodoris Gonis, ‘Charles Diehl and Tsimiski ‘. The stories are based on some main facts from the lives of these women filtered by the personal sight of each performer.

The Red Shoes, Megaron Doukissis Plakentias Penteli, May 2010

The Red Shoes is a community theatre show that was devised by the theatre team of the Cultural Centre of the Municipality of Penteli in collaboration with children from the nonprofit organization ‘Homogelo Toy Paidiou’. The members of the group approached their own personal red shoes inspired by the ancient myth of the Red Shoes, known to most of us from Hans Christian Andersen’s famous adaptation. Through improvisations and creative writing exercises the members of the group created their own texts exploring the notion of substitute in the varying forms it can take and the disastrous results it may lead. Each of the protagonists of the stories tried on the red shoes, danced and twirled around in them in a dance that has only one and only rhythm, the choices we make.
